Over the UAE summer even our very busy city seems to slow down as schools go on holiday and families travel. Through the years, we’ve sought to embrace this as a sabbath. Sabbath rest is a sacred invitation to return to the One who restores our soul, and is a rhythm woven into creation itself. Resting is a declaration that God is provider, sustainer, and shepherd.
What does this look like for us, as a church family, in this season?
Summer Services
Small groups: Will not meet from 7th July to 23 August.
Sunday services: Only 2 morning meetings at 9:30am & 11:30am from Sunday 13 July to 17 August.
This is in part to protect the smaller pool of volunteers we have around over the summer, but also it’s an opportunity to simplify our schedules and rediscover the beauty of unhurried community. To that end, we have created some other gathering moments outside of Sunday:
Stay connected
So if you’re around, please be there and invite someone! These relaxed events are a beautiful way to stay connected:
Games Night – Friday, 18 July | Upstairs at The Well
A lighthearted evening to laugh and connect. Bring a snack or just come as you are. Fun guaranteed.
Men’s Action Soccer – Wednesday, 23 July | 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM (Indoor Sports Venue)
An energising afternoon of competition and great space to build community and fellowship.
Movie Night – Sunday, 3 August
Come enjoy a film with friends, old and new, and enjoy one another’s company.
PASTORAL CARE
Please be assured that this quieter season in no way diminishes our commitment to pastoral care and if you find yourself needing help, here’s how we’re here for you:
Prayer First
Every Sunday, our Prayer Team and Elders are available to stand with you – whether you're seeking breakthrough, healing or simply a listening ear. Please do not hesitate to approach a team member during or after the Sunday worship if you are in need.
Small Group Leaders & Deacons
Stay connceted to the leaders and members of your Connect Group even though you’re not formally meeting over the summer. Our Small Group Leaders and Deacons are your first point of care, and are faithfully committed to praying for and walking with you in grace and truth.
Elder Support
For deeper personal concerns, such as navigating a crisis, serious sin struggles, or major life transitions, we (the Elders) are obviously available and there will only be one or two of us away at a time.
Additionally, a trained and trusted team equipped to counsel will be ready to help if needed and the Elders can help you connect you to someone who can walk with you.
Let’s Rest Well, Together
Rest doesn’t mean stepping away from God, it means stepping deeper into His presence. This summer, let’s rest with purpose, gather with joy, love with intention, and grow in grace.
