“My house will
be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
(Mark 11:17).
“The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and
effective.” (James 5:16).
“Pray continually.” (1 Timothy 5:17)
“How could one man chase a thousand, or two
put ten thousand to flight?” (Deuteronomy 32:30)
There is an overwhelming call in
scripture to gather as a church and pray together.
The early church “devoted themselves to prayer”,
among other things, and they met daily in the temple
courts and in their homes (Acts 2:42-47). What a standard
to live by!
We believe it is Biblical to meet
and pray together. We do this before and during our
weekly Celebration meetings and in home groups, but
our main corporate prayer meeting is held every Tuesday
evening. This is regarded as the “engine room”
of the church and a key time both in our togetherness
and in our individual walks with the Lord. There is
much power when we pray in agreement.
We invite you to come and participate
in our Tuesday evening prayer meetings, where we gather
to praise and pray to our Father as one body, standing
in unity to pray for many different issues. We pray
for the people of Dubai, the United Arab Emirates
and the nations, for the apostolic team and ministry,
for specific individuals or churches around us or
in the outermost areas, and we pray for us as a body
of believers.
Often during these times of seeking
the Father He speaks to us through prophetic words
and pictures, revealing the things on his heart for
us or the situation we are praying into. These prayer
times are usually VERY EXCITING and FAITH BUILDING.
They are such wonderful times when
we as a family seek the heart of God and let our prayers
and petitions to the Father be as sweet smelling incense
to his throne room: “...they were holding golden
bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the
saints.” (Revelation 5:8)
